I started in Hogan in 1978 after my A levels at Syr Huw Owen School, Caernarfon. Immediately on joining I noticed the friendliness of my employers and my colleagues and knew that I would have no regrets in joining the company.
Although the business was in its relative infancy at that time, the reputation for quality workmanship was already being established with clients from large PLCs, local authorities, private businesses and householders all returning as customers time after time.
For my part, I started as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk and in 1981 was offered to be trained as an accountant by my mentor the then FD. I watched the business grow from a single entity partnership to a multi-company incorporated business, into a Group of companies and then into the multi-industry diversified business that we see today.
It has been a pleasure to have been a part of that journey, and I have enjoyed watching the business grow and the individuals therein develop into skilled professionals excelling in their fields.
Reflecting on the 48 years I have been with the business I can honestly say that due to the dynamics, the challenges and the successes, that there haven’t been many dull moments and the enthusiasm that was present in the founding partners back when I joined is still present in today’s leadership and management teams.
Today we are developing the next generation of leaders and managers which I’m sure will give the current board great pleasure to witness the new ideas that will adapt to the new technological world, and see the business continue to grow from strength to strength.
