JOB TITLE: Class 1 HGV Concrete Mixer Driver/Batcher

Job Summary:
We have an exciting and diverse position available for an accomplished individual who possesses the necessary skills to join our proficient team. As a Concrete Mixer Driver/Batcher, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of concrete to construction sites while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining the concrete mixer truck, as well as batching concrete materials.
Responsibilities:
Concrete Mixer Driver and Batching:
- Batch concrete materials accurately, following the specifications and requirements of each project.
- Monitor the quality of concrete products and adjust the batching process as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on the mixer, including checking fluids, tire pressure, and cleanliness.
- Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and maintain a safe driving record.
- Must have experience of using a manual gearbox.
Safety and Maintenance:
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with the company’s Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental management systems.
- Operate the concrete plant in a safe and efficient manner as per induction and training.
- Ensure the plant is running at optimal capacity and efficiency ensuring down time is kept to a minimum.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and standards.
- Ensure that the Concrete plant and surrounding areas are kept clean and tidy.
Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain effective communication with dispatch staff and other team members to coordinate deliveries and ensure timely arrival at construction sites.
- Complete and submit necessary paperwork, such as delivery tickets, batch records, and vehicle inspection reports accurately and on time.
Quality Control:
- Monitor the quality of the concrete during batching and transportation, making necessary adjustments to meet specifications.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent contamination and maintain quality.
Qualifications:
- Valid and clean HGV driver’s licence (Class 1 or Class 2).
- Prior experience as a Concrete Mixer Driver/Batcher or in a similar role is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of concrete mixing and batching processes, including mix proportions and material handling.
- Familiarity with concrete construction practices, safety regulations, and traffic laws.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labour tasks.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and overtime, as required by project schedules.

Further Information:
Estimated Salary between £28 – £35K pa subject to hours.
